The Traditional ‘Super H’ Cowl is designed to ensure that no matter what the wind direction or strength the flue or chimney is protected from downdraught. As the wind passes down the top of the external parts, it creates a wind flow that exhausts the smoke and fumes out of the lower exits.

Why the H Cowl Cures All Downdraught
So powerful is this action of the H Cowl that gusts of wind blowing through the air shafts produce an up-draught equal to about 30% of the velocity of the gusts. In normal weather, the ‘Super H’ Cowl Cowl possessing four outlets to the atmosphere improves any sluggish updraught.
Only the genuine ‘Super H’ Pot and Cowl has the exclusive design, which converts downdraught into an updraught ? no matter how strong or gusty the wind may be.
The ‘Super H’ Cowl cowl should be positioned so that it faces broadside onto the troublesome wind. It should be as exposed and high as possible.
Super H Cowl Variations
Standard Chimney Pot Fitting
The Super H Cowls are designed to fit internally into your Chimney Pot. If you are fixing your Super H Cowl to a Chimney Pot they can cemented into place.
Due to the size and weight of he Super H Cowl we recommend cementing your Super H Cowl into place when fitting to a Chimney Pot.
If you are fitting into a standard flue pipe they can be self-tapered into place.
Pot Hanging Cowl Fixing (Chimney Liner Fixing)
The Super H Cowl is designed to attach to a flexible flue liner and are attached with Jubilee clips that come with the Super H Cowl.
When ordering the size please base it on the size of the flexible liner it needs to be attached to.
We will also provide a Skirt size of 285mm which will fit fit a standard Chimney Pot.
Twin Wall Fixing
The Super H Cowls are designed to fit to fit internally into a twin wall insulated pipe.
When ordering please order the internal diameter of the twin wall. This will then slot inside and the skirt will cap off the top of your pipe.
The Super H Cowl is then secured with external legs which are attached to the skirt and comes with Jubilee clip. However, preferably use a locking band that should be supplied with your twin wall system.
You can also seal the skirt with silicone to ensure there are no gaps between the cowl and pipe.
The following Super H Cowl was recently installed on a customers Chimney in Anglesey.
Both the customer and I are extremely pleased with the results and the installation of the Super H Cowl was extremely straight forward.
In this instance the Super H Cowl was installed with our Chimney Liner Fixing Kit. The Cowl was suitable for a 5″ Flue Liner and we supplied a Super H Cowl Skirt which is suitable to cover Chimney Pots up to 285mm.
Finished off with a silicone seal between the Super H Cowl and the Skirt to ensure everything is water tight. I’m sure you will agree this looks great and the skirt ensures that the Chimney is well dressed and water tight.
The principle is exactly the same if you wish to purchase the Super H Cowl for a Twin Wall Flue.
