How to position and measure

Measure your chimney about a foot or so out of sight where your Chimney Balloon will fit as shown in the diagrams. You will need the side to side and the front to back inside dimensions. We suggest you use a flexible steel tape measure (Stanley type) or two pieces of wood or cardboard extended like wings. It is only necessary to measure approximately and choose the Chimney Balloon of the appropriate size or slightly larger than your chimney. You can always just count the bricks inside - allow 9 inches per brick length.

C-Cap - Technical Information and How it works

• The C-Cap is a robust, high quality product manufactured from 'Styrosun' and is designed to fit any standard design round chimney pot, up to 280mm external diameter.

• Fitting (or removal) is simple and takes seconds, requiring no special skills. However, gaining access to pots should only be undertaken by a suitably experienced person using appropriate access equipment.

• Pots need to be in sound condition. Any cracked pot should either be replaced or suitably bound to accept lateral pressure from the retaining spring wires.

• The C-Cap is for use on redundant, disused chimneys only. Care needs to be taken that capping is not carried out to any flue that is still in use. Check it first!

• As with any capping, the flue should preferably be swept clean and any obstruction (e.g. bird's nests) removed.

• C-Cap has been site-tested over 10 years and in severe gale conditions from Cornwall to the Orkneys.

Bird BanBird Ban

Birdban is a non harmful deterrent for birds up to pigeon size. Birdban spikes are suitable for protecting all pigeon perching/roosting sites such as window sills, ledges, pipes gutters, TV aerials, signs, chimney stacks, and roofs. (will also deter cats in some situations).

Birdban is manufactured from super strong UV stabilised polycarbonate - the outer spikes have a snap off design enabling them to be installed flush to walls or window frames or for narrow installations/infills. The 30mm interval grooves on the bases allow for easy length adjustment.

To install Birdban simply squeeze a 6-12mm bead of exterior quality silicone sealant/adhesive onto the clean, dry ledge where you are placing the row of Birdban spikes, then press the spikes firmly into place.

Each row of Birdban spikes offers protection of up to 210mm (8.5 inches).
